firstly, apologies for my long absence and delay in posting! life, as it does, just got in the way. following my last post about hedge witch or coven member, i received some very helpful advice from the wonderful Naomi, who runs my favourite shop in the world, Inanna's Festival. It seems there is a middle way.
It is not straightforward to join a coven. Under normal circumstances, you need to be invited to join a coven and often there follows training and initiation, before becoming a full member. If going alone, it is therefore more difficult to meet a coven member who can invite you to join, if that is your calling.
However, there are regular pagan meetings, called moots where like minded souls can offer and receive support and this then may lead to meeting coven members as well as new friends. It is an open meeting and a wonderful opportunity to discuss all things magical in a safe and friendly environment.
I shall certainly be finding out about my local moot and when in Norwich, where Naomi's shop resides, shall attend their meetings as well. I feel drawn to the way of the solo (hedge) witch, but do not want to be isolated and at the moots i should find the friendship, support and advice i will surely need.
My thanks again to Naomi for this priceless information. If any of my dear readers should have any ideas, information or constructive criticism which will enhance and improve these ramblings, please don't hesitate to post a comment and I will gladly add this to the blog. Thanks for being so patient during my long absence. happy autumn equinox and merry blessings!
